Justin Monroe and Victor Isler Memorial Portraits

Rail Walk Studios & Gallery artist Annette Hall painted commemorative oil portraits of Justin E. Monroe and Victor A. Isler, two Salisbury firefighters who were killed in the March 7, 2008, Salisbury Millworks Fire. She donated the portraits to the Salisbury Fire Department. The unveiling was done at the main fire station on E. Innes St. on Saturday, March 7, 2009, the first anniversary of their deaths, during a private luncheon for family, friends, colleagues, and dignitaries, which was held after the public memorial service. (High-quality giclée reproductions of both portraits, printed on canvas, may be ordered from Annette's fellow Rail Walk Studios & Gallery artist, Sharon Forthofer.)

Annette created the photo collages on which the compositions of the oil portraits were based. She provided large printouts of these images to the Salisbury Fire Department, which had them framed and presented to the families prior to the two men's funerals in March 2008. Annette is donating the online versions to anyone who wishes to display them online or print them. The only restriction is that they cannot be used for commercial purposes (if a written release is required in order to have prints made, contact Annette Hall.). Note: for online display, these high-resolution images will need to be downsized considerably and resaved as .jpg.
