**** Public Art Project: In November 2010 a large public-art project created by six Rail Walk artists was unveiled. Five of the pieces are 8-foot x 4-foot paintings that are hung on the exterior wall of the Rail Walk building on the corner of N. Lee and E. Kerr Streets. The sixth piece is a sculpture, which is situated on the corner of the parking lot (see photo, above right). Rowan Investment Company, the owner of the building, paid for the supplies to create the artwork, the lighting, the mounting, and the unveiling event. The artists donated their time and talent. The participating artists were Sharon Forthofer, Karen Frazer, Annette Ragone Hall, Patt Legg, Marietta Foster Smith, and former Rail Walk artists, Patt Legg and Carol Dunkley (whose idea the project was and who drove it to completion).
